No matter what you call it, it has a huge presence in fashion right now, and it's not the easiest look to pull off. If you are toying with the idea, but aren't quite sure how to make it work, I'll give you a few inspirations to start you off.
First things first. Unless you are still in your early 20's I would say avoid showing too much midriff. (Like those girls picture above) or leg for that matter.
If you are like me...(not in your early 20's)...don't fret; you too can wear a cropped bustier and keep it classy!
I started with the night look because it seems to be the hardest to imagine. The trick here is the high waist pants. See how they cover the belly button? Now, picture the bustier falling about two inches below your bust...that means there will only be a very small strip of skin showing. That my friends is how you do it!
Here are some runway images so you can see exactly what I am talking about.
Here is some daytime inspiration for you. I paired the bralet with a pair of high waist skinny jeans and a blazer to complete the look. A blazer is the perfect way to polish off any look, but I especially like how it adds some mystery to the bralet while it just peeks out from underneath.
You can also create a daytime look by following the same principles as
that of the nighttime look above. In addition to a wide leg pant you
can substitute with a high waist maxi skirt and finish the outfit with a
flat sandal and over sized bag like the one featured above.
What do you think about the cropped bustier? Will you be working into your wardrobe this season?
