I'm sure most of you already know about Crossroads Trading Company but if you haven't they are a store that sells new and recycled clothing. They purchase in season, gently worn clothing from customers like us, and give you 35% of the selling price in cash, or 50% in trade.
I've been familiar with them for awhile through the blog world, but haven't had the chance to experience it until I relocated to California. (They recently opened a NY store in Brooklyn)
Of course one of the first things I did when I got here was take a peek. A few days after my first encounter I put together a bag of clothes to trade. They took the majority of what I brought it, and although I could have probably gotten more for the clothing on ebay, you just can't beat the instant gratification. I of course took the trade, and here are the items I've picked up so far... (I still have some credit left, yay!)
I was in desperate need of some fun accessories going into the spring. Most of my waist belts are all neutral colors and thick - these skinny options were the perfect way to add some life to some of my simpler pieces.
Like I mentioned the other day, I am also in need of dresses and skirts for the warmer west coast weather. I love the two above for their fun prints and simplicity of throwing them on with a tee shirt or a tank top. Below are a couple of dresses I picked up as well. The one on the left is a great day time piece (which looks super fun with my new yellow belt) while the leopard one is definitely more of a night time piece. It's got a retro fit, think 40's pin up, and is super sexy. I do need to do some alterations, the straps are a bit too long, but considering it only cost me $13.50 that is "A OK" with me.
Overall the pieces I got were nothing fancy or designer, but I'm excited to have some new to me pieces without spending any money - you can't beat it. They do of course have some fabulous designer pieces too from Marc Jacobs, Diane Von Furstenberg and Louis Vuitton shoes, but none of that fun stuff was in my size. I of course will make that a regular stop since their inventory changes daily based on what people sell to them. I can't wait to see what other fun finds, I can....well find. (So cheesy)

I love those skirts! x

ReplyDeleteThat is such a good idea! I'm loving the colors of the belts, and the prints on the clothing are pretty much awesome.
